Come join us for our Preschool Nature Adventure program!

  • Each adventure runs from 9:00-10:00am and begins with a nature story, followed by a short hike and activity to explore the natural world around us.
  • This program is perfect for young explorers 3-6 years old and their grownup. Younger siblings are welcome!  Registration is needed for everyone attending in your group.

  • These programs often sell out. Please sign up for the waitlist if you would like to be notified if tickets become available.

February 23rd: What Birds Live Here? - We will read How to Find a Bird, and use our listening and observation skills to find and identify birds at the site!

March 2nd: What is it Like to be a Baby Animal? - We will read My First Day, move our bodies like different baby animals, and learn about how to protect our native baby animals!

March 23rd: Where does the Water Come From? - We will read I am the Rain, learn about and act out the water cycle, and explore how water drops move around in nature!

April 6th: What Colors are in Nature? - We will read Baby Bear Sees Blue, go on a color hike, and make a color craft to remember the colors we find!

April 13th: What is Special about Earth? - We will read I Love our Earth, learn about Earth Day, take a nature hike and do a hands-on activity!

May 11th: What Bug is This? - We will read Bugs From Head to Tail, and then collect, observe, identify and release insects around the site!

May 18th: What Opposites can I Find in Nature? - We will read Over and Under the Pond, and explore opposites in nature (like big and small) all around us!

Arriving Late? A greeter will be at the trailhead for 10 minutes after the program start time to help guide you. After that, we'll be out on the trail learning and exploring! This program typically begins at the amphitheater by the river - follow the short trail to your right to find the group. You can always stop by the front office and we'll help you get connected with the group.
