Landscaping with Natives 101

Have you dreamed of a yard full of beautiful flowers? Want to attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators while saving water and reducing maintenance?  The secret is planting native...  And best of all, no green thumb is required!

Join experts from the Native Plant Society of Texas, New Braunfels Chapter, for this fun, beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop at Headwaters.  You'll learn how to create a beautiful, low-maintenance landscape using native plants that thrive in our region.  Participants will rotate through four interactive outdoor learning stations:

• How to Plant- Learn planting techniques for long-term success.
• Gardening for Pollinators- Learn the best native plants to attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
• Meet Your Plant Neighbors- Get to know the native plants commonly found at Headwaters and in our region.
• Landscape Design- Learn how to choose the right plants for your yard and create a landscape you'll love.

After the workshop, enjoy a guided tour of the Headwaters grounds to see a mature native landscape in action.  The workshop is entirely outdoors, interactive, and one of our most popular plant programs. You won't want to miss it!

• Single Admission: One adult and one participant packet of handouts and workshop materials.
• Dual/Family Admission: Up to two adults with one shared participant packet of handouts and workshop materials.

Headwaters is located at 333 E Klingemann St, near downtown New Braunfels. Unfortunately, trails are not ADA accessible.
