You don’t just marry a person. You marry their past, their upbringing, and the emotional patterns that shaped them.
Preparing for Marriage is a five-week live and interactive online programme designed to help you think more deeply about who you marry, what you bring into marriage, and the skills needed to build a healthy relationship. Drawing on relationship counselling, psychology and Islamic principles, each workshop will combine practical teaching, personal reflection and live Q&A.
Over five weeks we will explore:
Week 1 — Choosing Well: Compatibility & the Five Variables
Love, personality, timing, family and religiosity and how to look beyond attraction when assessing compatibility.
Week 2 — Knowing Yourself: The Marriage Passport
Explore your attachment style, love language, apology style, defence mechanisms and the emotional patterns you may carry into marriage.
Week 3 — Communication, Conflict & Expectations
How couples communicate, navigate differences, manage expectations, repair after conflict and prevent resentment from building.
Week 4 — Intimacy, Sex & Infidelity
A sensitive and practical exploration of marital intimacy, expectations, communication, desire, boundaries and protecting the relationship from infidelity.
Week 5 — Red Flags, Green Flags & Making the Decision
How to distinguish normal human imperfections from genuine warning signs, recognise healthy relationship qualities and make a more informed decision about marriage.
Dates: Fridays, 6 November – 4 December 2026
Time: 8:00–9:30pm (UK time)
Location: Live online via Zoom
Fee: £80 for the full five-week programme
