Land Beneath the Waves - Book talk with Derek Niemann and Nic Wilson

Tue 30 Sep 2025 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM BST Heal Somerset, BA11 5HH

Join us for an inspiring evening with author, Cambridge University creative writing tutor and Guardian country diarist, Derek Niemann, in conversation with fellow country diarist Nic Wilson about nature, place and chronic illness in her recently published memoir Land Beneath the Waves.

Land Beneath the Waves beautifully explores our relationship with nature and this promises to be a hopeful and restorative gathering which will provide an opportunity to reflect on our bond with the natural world, and to find inspiration for care and action in this time of biodiversity and climate crises.

‘A moving, honest and revealing memoir of living with chronic illness, and an examination of the ways a relationship with the natural world can affect us, from debut author and nature writer Nic Wilson.’
