You are welcomed to bring an old piece of clothing, or, a piece of material that may hold some meaning for you that you’re happy to weave into the rug. If not, we have plenty of material to share for weaving together.

We invite you to come and share your memories of food and family, griefs and joys from yonder years to the present. From overseas to this island we call home. ‘Yarn’ over a tasty meal of foods from many shores, and weave together our collective stories, memories and recipes to create a beautiful rag rug.

Celebrating the Docks as the portal to our City means honouring the contexts of migration, global trade; spices, cotton and community that have shaped and continue to shape our City of Sanctuary. So foods and fabrics that bring us together will be central to this workshop!
