For our November hike, we'll follow a circular route through Epping Forest beginning and ending on Chingford Plain, 7 minutes walk from Chingford Station. We'll gather from 9:45 am.
Meeting pointΒ is here
Join us for Walking Meditation and some gentle Zen practice, followed by a picnic.
Attendance is free and all are welcome.
Zen hiking is not an exercise, but a joy. We walk not to arrive anywhere or to attain anything β we walk just to enjoy walking. We train our mind to stay in the present moment. In doing so, we allow this moment to be a moment of happiness.
Please bring:
- A plant-based packed lunch
- You may like to carry with you something to sit on
- Dogs are welcome
We expect to hike for 3 or 4 miles at an easy pace and will walk rain or shine. Bring appropriate gear for the weather.
It will be a chance to slow down and come back to the present moment, and experience the healing power of mindful walking in a group π³ππ
Book for free
Booking is optional although if you would like to book, it will help us to have some idea of numbers.

Epping Forest is home to 55,000 ancient trees, more than any other single site in the country. Some are centuries old and may have been growing there since Anglo-Saxon times.
