Join me, Darnell Blocker, for this CE workshop, designed specifically for mental health professionals. Participants will examine complex ethical dilemmas involving dual and multiple-role relationships, sexual boundary violations, suicidal risk assessment and emergency response, and the ethical art of termination, while grounding practice in core principles and human rights foundations to ensure competent, principled decision-making in rare and challenging clinical situations.

Description of Topics & Goals:

1. To equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of core ethical principles in psychotherapy, emphasizing human rights as the foundational framework, thereby enabling them to apply these principles effectively in addressing rare moral dilemmas within the counseling field.

2. To develop proficiency in navigating dual and multiple role relationships, including the identification and prevention of ethical violations such as sexual relationships, fostering the ability to maintain professional boundaries in complex interpersonal dynamics.

3. To enhance skills in recognizing, assessing, and responding to suicidal risk, while mastering the art of termination in psychotherapy, ensuring participants are prepared to manage emergencies and inevitable endings with ethical integrity and sensitivity
