Birds, Botany and Bugs - a natural history walk through the Heavens Valley
Birds, Botany and Bugs - a natural history walk through the Heavens Valley
Share this event
Local ecologists Simon Pickering and Cathy Beeching will guide this gentle ramble through the natural history of the Heavens Valley, stopping to tell stories about the animals, birds, insects and plants they spot along the way.
Simon's Dawn Chorus bird walks were a huge success and the combination of his knowledge and Cathy's will make this a fascinating event. They will discuss what the plants and grasses can tell us about the past management of the valley and how the land might be managed in the future for wildlife.
Please wear stout footwear as parts of the valley can be muddy and the ground is very uneven and steep in parts. Please bring binoculars if you have them.
Parking around the Bowbridge Lane entrance is limited so please leave in plenty of time.
We expect the event to last between one hour 30 minutes and two hours.
We would like this event to be open for all. We have a number of free tickets available so if you’d like to take part but the entrance fee would be unaffordable right now, please contact info@heavensvalley.org.uk
Come and find out more about what makes your Valley so special!
