Description
DREAM CATCHERS
In this workshop, you will create your very own, unique
Dream Catcher! You will first make a Willow wreath base and once complete learn how to weave a web using twine in a colour of your choice! We will have lots of different jewels and feathers for you to use to decorate your dream catcher!
In some Native American cultures, a dreamcatcher or dream catcher is a handmade willow hoop, on which is woven a net or web. It originates in Ojibwe culture as the "spider web charm". The dream catcher may also include sacred items such as certain feathers or beads. Traditionally they are often hung over cradles as protection.
The Dream Catcher Workshop will take place during the Surrey Artist Open Studios event, to be held in and around our outdoor studio, Birtley Woodland Art Space.
