A SONG IN MY FOOT in Bristol - Helen Chadwick Song Theatre - afternoon concert + singing workshop

A SONG IN MY FOOT

a vibrant performance of stunning vocal harmony, body percussion and foot rhythms and wild introductions and a singing workshop

A decade of touring performances and meeting and collaborating with South American creatives in Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Bolivia inspired Helen to create this performance. The songs are influenced by the rich variety of traditions, music and poets in South America, from Quechua dances in Bolivia to a demonstration against violence led by women in Colombia, from the poetry of Argentinean human rights activist Alicia Partnoy to the question and answer patterns of pan pipes, and from Brazilian children’s clapping games to politician and poet Pablo Neruda's journeys.

performed by Helen Chadwick Song Theatre
Andre Chadwick, Helen Chadwick, Barbara Gellhorn, Aileen Gonsalves and Sophie Sterckx.
