LivingWorks ASIST — Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
At HelloHope we believe prevention is the key to saving lives.
It's our mission to bring mental health and suicide prevention training to the masses and this is your unique opportunity to learn the skills to provide a suicide first-aid intervention with expert trainer, Mark.
This course is in association with Wider Sky who delivers LivingWorks ASIST, a 2-day interactive workshop giving you practical skills to support someone who is having thoughts of suicide. Over 25 years of research back its use — from workplaces and schools to healthcare, construction, and community settings.
You will learn to:
- Develop a safety plan to keep someone safe-for-now and connect them with further help
- Talk openly about personal and community attitudes towards suicide
- Build confidence and capacity to provide suicide first-aid
In 2022 alone, ASIST training contributed to an estimated 12,939 suicide attempts prevented across 92,424 interventions by 74,536 trained participants.
This workshop is suitable for those looking to understand and improve their knowledge about mental health and to learn the skills to support their own and others’ positive wellbeing in the workplace.
Delegates aged 18 or older can attend this course.
Candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.
