Equine Support for Individuals Living with Terminal Breast Cancer

This 1.5 hour equine support event offers a gentle, supportive space for individuals living with terminal breast cancer to pause, connect, and simply be — with themselves, with others, and with the grounding presence of horses. In a peaceful natural setting, participants are invited to explore whatever emotions, thoughts, or feelings arise, without pressure or expectation. Horses have a unique ability to foster calm, connection, and emotional presence, offering quiet companionship during times that can feel uncertain or overwhelming.

We are committed to making this experience as accessible and comfortable as possible. All activities are designed to be gentle and adaptable, and can be done fully seated if needed. Chairs will be provided throughout the space, including within the arena, so participants can rest at any time. You are warmly encouraged to bring and use any mobility aids that support you — including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, or other assistive devices. Movement is never required, and you are always welcome to engage at your own pace, in whatever way feels right for your body.

The retreat is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional alongside an equine specialist, creating a safe and compassionate environment for reflection, support, and shared experience among others navigating a similar health journey. There is no riding involved, and no prior horse experience is necessary. All interactions take place on the ground and can be as active or as restful as you need.
