Equine Support for Every Stage of Breast Cancer
Share this event
This 2.5-hour equine support event offers a gentle, supportive space for individuals navigating breast cancer — whether you are currently in treatment, in survivorship, or somewhere in between — to pause, connect, and simply be. In a peaceful natural setting, participants are invited to slow down and explore whatever emotions, thoughts, or feelings arise, without pressure or expectation. Horses have a unique ability to foster calm, connection, and emotional presence, offering an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with yourself, others, and the natural world.
We are committed to making this experience as accessible and comfortable as possible. Activities are designed to be gentle and adaptable, with opportunities to participate in ways that feel right for you. You are welcome to move at your own pace, take breaks, or simply observe. Chairs will be available to bring into the space, and you are warmly encouraged to bring and use any mobility aids that support you, including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, or other assistive devices. Movement is never required, and there is no expectation to participate in any particular way.
The event is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional alongside an equine specialist, creating a safe and compassionate environment for reflection, connection, and shared experience among others navigating breast cancer. There is no riding involved, and no prior horse experience is necessary. All interactions with the horses take place on the ground and can be as active or as restful as you need.
Whether you are looking for moments of peace, connection, emotional expression, a chance to breathe and slow down, or simply time in nature with supportive company, you are warmly welcomed exactly as you are.
Please Note: If you click to register and see that the event is full, we encourage you to join the waitlist. Not only does this give you the opportunity to be contacted if a space becomes available, but it also helps us understand the level of interest in this program. Waitlist registrations provide valuable insight into community needs and help us plan future offerings. Thank you for helping us grow and better serve our community.
