First Thursday Writers & Artists Series

The First Thursday Writers & Artists Series is a monthly event designed to bring together writers, painters, photographers, poets, and people who appreciate them, in the inspiring setting of Helvetia Winery.  This series will provide a welcoming space for people to connect, share their creative work, and build lasting artistic and professional communities.

Each month we host a speaker to kick off the evening.  This month Margaret Sáraco will be our guest.

About the author:

Margaret R. Sáraco is the author of two poetry collections, If There Is No Wind and Even the Dog Was Quiet (Human Error Publishing), which was a finalist in the Eyeland International Book Awards Contest. An earlier version was a semifinalist in the Laura Boss Narrative Poetry Book Contest. Margaret won first place in both the Ginosko Literary Journal Flash Fiction Contest for “Her/She/Me,” and in the Moving Words Competition for her poem “Dear Rorschach” turned into a film. Recent work appears in Meat for Tea, Paterson Literary Review, S/he Speaks, Lips and Whisper, Whisper, Shout. Margaret is a Writing the LandÆ poet, writing workshop leader, and was guest poetry editor for The Platform Review. Her work appears in video, Instagram, and podcast projects.
