About the author:
Colors are highly associated with feelings and emotions. Blue is sad. Yellow and Orange are bright and happy. Green can be jealous and full of envy. Purple is true and brave. Pink, well, pink can be so many things. And Red, oh my!
All of us, children and adults, find talking about and sharing feelings and emotions to be one of the hardest things to do in life. How hard is it, then, for young children who don't even know the words, let alone the ideas behind vocabulary such as like, love, hate, envy, admire, adore, and so on? Using colors as a way to talk about feelings can open a door for children to express themselves about about their own feelings and the world around them.
Today we are getting deep into the Color Theory, developed by Millard Christner, Oregon author and businessman, who originated the field based on his own experience and theories.
Millard was born in Hempstead, New York. He grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and lived on and off again in Portland, Oregon beginning in 1968 when his father decamped for Pacific Shores. In 1995 Millard moved to Portland permanently, married and has now raised two outstanding children.
In 1979 Millard obtained his BA from Colorado State University, majoring in English Literature, Creative Writing, minoring in Asian Studies. He had a poetry scholarship. In 1989 Millard obtained his MEd, Guidance and Counseling from the University of Guam, which he hastens to add is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Between 1981 and 1995 Millard lived and worked in El Salvador, Venezuela, and Guam. He used these years to travel extensively throughout Latin America and East Asia.
Besides traveling, Millard has started a number of businesses, has printed his work for a number of publications and won various monetary prizes.
Besides working on his thesis, “Color Theory of Emotional Intelligence: Concept, Technique and Application”, Millard also devotes some efforts towards his second most passionate thesis: “On Preventing Genocidal, Mass Murdering Psychopaths and Their Deep State Machinery from Controlling and Destroying Civil Societies, Nations and Free Peoples”.
