Description
The Eye of the Storm – living and contributing in wild times
Deep down we know our strength lies in our togetherness, in our interconnectedness and interdependence. We are woven as cloth and find coherence and peacefulness when coming home to each other and those of all other tribes - the plants, the animals, the rocks, the insects, the fish, the seen and the unseen. This talk braids beauty, wildness, activism and the yearning pulse all humans have for a meaningful life, into a compelling story of belonging. It spreads a map at our feet and invites us to set a course, homeward bound.
Join Mac Macartney, speaker and founder of Embercombe for an evening around the fire in Henbant’s barn.
The evening will be accompanied by music from local musicians (who they are is TBC, offers welcome!)
Mac Macartney is a writer, speaker, leadership consultant, eco/peace advocate, and spiritual journeyman. He has explored many paths, some unwisely, some with discernment, all with enthusiasm, vigour, and persistence.
As a young child, he fell deeply in love with nature and since that time has endeavoured to listen to the guiding dreams, visions, and experiences that have landed in his outstretched arms. In their different ways all have invited him to do whatever he can to shift our world for the better.
Mac moves between, learns from, and contributes to, many diverse and contrasting spheres of society – an enriching, stimulating, and often, deeply troubling pathway. Over a period of twenty years he was mentored and coached by a group of Native American teachers. During this training and ever since he has attempted to bring two worlds together – an ancient worldview that emphasises relationship, interdependence and reverence for life, with the huge challenges and equally huge opportunities of the 21st Century.

Hearth @ Henbant
One of Henbant's main projects over the next few years is to look at what it means to deeply belong to a place, to connect to nature, to find what it means to be human and how we can help people bring their gifts into the world to deliver optimal purpose, contentment and joy. Mac and Embercombe have been massively inspirational on this journey and it's a treat to welcome him back to North Wales.
