Agroforesty Centric Full Farm Tour - Agroforestry Open Weekend

We really think really think farming with trees and ecosystems is best future for humanity, but also great fun.. Join us for this farm tour on Agroforestry Open Weekend. 

Our farm is a small (but commercial) permaculture inspired and community centred farm. We grow no-dig veg for a 80 share CSA scheme, we have pastured laying hens and holistically managed cattle and woodland pigs all amongst a backbone of agroforestry systems.

Our agroforestry

We have divided our main grazing pastures up with agroforestry systems for browse for cattle and on on our better land with fruit trees both as top fruit and understory fruit with support species. We also have an establishing traditional grazed orchard and a new orchard where we have claimed back from brambles which has fruit and nut trees in cactus guards to keep back the bramble. The no-dig Market Garden also has a agroforestry backbone with blocks of beds divided up by fruit tree and herb rows.

Our most exciting agroforestry system to date is our agriwilding project, where we are moving some post harvest sika spruce woodland over to grazing lanes amongst very diverse stump and trunk towns with natural scrub rows. This is now being planted to create a manage system.

We are always one to visitors but over Agroforestry Open Weekend we will do a full farm tour at 11am on the Sunday.

You can just turn up, but we'd love to know your coming

You can turn up without booking, but if you know you're coming in advance it would be great if you let us know, this will help us guess how many people are likely to visit. The best thing would to book a free ticket on Ticket Taylor

facilities/refreshments

We will have hot and cold drinks and cakes available to buy by donation towards further planting schemes.

parking/access

The farm has two entrances, Please use our guest or overflow parking at the top of the farm.

dogs

Dogs are welcome but they have to be well behaved and on a lead.

disability access

Most of our site is grass fields and roughish paths. People do and have come with limited mobility or wheelchairs etc but the site more farm than car park/smooth paths. We shouldn't have much mud etc.
