Forging - Make your own Viking Knife.
Over a day of fire, laughs and lots of hammering you will learn the skills of a blacksmith to make your own Viking Knife.
Forged in fire and tradition, and hence having so many names! The Vikings Knife, king's knife, blacksmith's knife or twist knife—is a tool born of simplicity and elegance. Historically used by blacksmiths as an all-purpose blade for work around the forge and farm, this knife embodies the soul of traditional craftsmanship. With its integral handle formed from the same piece of steel as the blade, often twisted or curled into decorative spirals, the blacksmith's knife requires no separate scales or pins—just heat, hammer, and skill. It’s a blade that whispers of old worlds and hard-won mastery, perfectly balanced between utility and artistry.
In our course, you’ll learn to craft your own king's knife from raw steel using traditional blacksmithing techniques. Whether you're new to forging or looking to deepen your craft, this knife is the ideal project: compact, beautiful, and packed with opportunities to develop key skills in tapering, scrolling, beveling, and heat treating. More than just a blade, it’s a piece of living history you’ll carry in your hand—functional, personal, and forged by you.
