The Creative Language of Nature - A two day painting workshop at Henbant Permaculture Farm

The Creative Language Of Nature is a two-day nature-based painting workshop for those who want to deepen their connection with the natural world and discover how that relationship can be expressed through paint. Guided by professional artist Debbie Baxter, participants will be invited to explore their own innate creativity and learn how to translate what they observe, sense, and feel into a personal visual language.

Together, we will explore the many ways of connecting with nature through observation, stillness, and time — allowing the land to become not only inspiration, but also teacher. This workshop offers both a reflective and practical approach, combining deeper nature connection with clear guidance in painting techniques for both outdoor work and studio practice.

Over the two days, we will immerse ourselves in the land, light, colour, and patterns of nature, held within the beautiful setting of Henbant Permaculture Farm. Participants will be encouraged to look closely, listen deeply, and respond more intuitively to the living world around them.

There is an ancient tradition of herbalists and nature observers who learned about the healing qualities of plants through quiet observation, listening, and drawing. This workshop is inspired by that way of learning, inviting us to open to a different kind of language – the subtle, wordless language of nature itself.
