Derek vs Derek Film Screening with Community Dinner and follow up Discussion

I'm SO looking forward to this one. Please do join us for what will be a fantastic evening at Henbant.

We’ll share supper together from 6pm, with Henbant beef or vegetable stew, before the film starts at 7.30pm. Afterwards, we’ll stay together for an open conversation about farming, nature, wilding and what the future of our countryside might look like.

Derek vs Derek tells the funny, moving and very timely story of two neighbouring Devon farmers — both called Derek — with very different ideas about the land.

Derek Banbury is an intensive dairy and beef farmer. His neighbour, Derek Gow, is turning his farm over to nature and rewilding. As tempers fray, wild animals escape and the landscape begins to change, the two Dereks clash over farming, wildlife and what the British countryside should be for.

But it’s also a wonderfully human film about neighbours, disagreement, friendship and the possibility of finding common ground.

If you aren’t familiar with Henbant Farm please follow these directions to the Car Park at the top of the farm.- https://maps.app.goo.gl/qwykZT9rSPb1aZS9A, and walk down to the farm (in the direction of the ocean). From the main yard, head into the garden opposite the farmhouse and take a left. Walk along the path to the stone walled building at the end, the Classroom, which is our meeting place for the course. It takes about 5 minutes to walk, and may be muddy so bring suitable shoes.
