International Crew Reception

All overseas crews along with their coaches and supporters are invited to the international crew reception on the Thursday evening before the regatta starts. The international reception is a fantastic opportunity to mingle with other overseas participants where you can truly enter the spirit of the regatta.

This very popular event is hosted by HWR Chairman Naomi Ashcroft, herself a multiple HWR winner and former world champion. There will also be a speech by a Guest of Honour.

Places at the reception are free for all competitors plus one coach per crew. Additional guest tickets may also be purchased (£20).

Tours of Leander Club

Leander Club is one of the most the most historic, prestigious and successful rowing clubs in the world.

Crews, coaches and their families can book to be taken on a guided tour of Leander Club by a current athlete. Tours take place either before (5pm) or after  (7.15pm) speeches and must be booked in advance (just 1 'ticket' needed per group only).

Immediately after the International Reception, Leander Club will be serving stir fry Chicken or Tofu noodles (vegetarian option) with vegetables plus a brownie and fruit for dessert - perfect for fuelling athletes!

This will be served after the speeches and will be £15 per person, payable at the event. Please email hospitality@hwr.org.uk by Monday, 15 June 2026 to reserve and indicate numbers.
