The seventh installment of the acclaimed Jazz Up Close series celebrates the 100th anniversary of one of the most influential musicians in jazz history, Miles Davis. Kind of New / Kind of Blue honors his legendary 1959 masterpiece, Kind of Blue, widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz albums ever recorded.

Led by acclaimed trumpeter DeShannon Higa, the evening features a complete live performance of the iconic album, presented in its original sequence, from the unforgettable opening notes of "So What" to the haunting beauty of "Flamenco Sketches." More than a tribute, this is an opportunity to experience the remarkable musical conversation, improvisation, and timeless artistry that forever changed the course of jazz.

Joining DeShannon is an exceptional ensemble featuring Reggie Padilla (alto saxophone), Larry Cook (tenor saxophone), Dan Del Negro (piano), John Kolivas (bass), and Darryl Pellegrini (drums).
