Three wahine. Three distinct voices. One special night of music, stories, and spontaneous moments.

At the heart of WAHINE is singer-songwriter Jenny Yim, whose soulful vocals, warmth, and natural ability to bring artists together have made the series a hit celebration of music and the women creating it. Inspired by the intimate spirit of a Nashville songwriter round, Jenny welcomes two Hawaiʻi artists to share the stage, creating an evening where the stories behind the songs are as much a part of the experience as the music itself.

This month, Jenny welcomes Clara Stegall and Lila Chris, two of the newest artists selected for the Henry Kapono Foundation’s On The Rise program. Together, they’ll share original music, inspirations, stories, and spontaneous collaborations before Jenny takes the stage for a soulful closing set of her own.

Clara Stegall is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has performed internationally as both a solo artist and collaborator, including appearances at Blue Note Hawaiʻi and Hawaiʻi Theatre. Formerly a member of the award-winning group Streetlight Cadence, Clara released her debut solo album in 2025 and continues to carve out a distinctive musical voice of her own.

Lila Chris is a Hawaiʻi-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends contemporary influences with her island roots. With a rich vocal tone, natural sense of harmony, and versatile musicianship, she has already shared the stage with some of Hawaiʻi’s iconic artists. Now based on Oʻahu, Lila continues to develop her artistry while studying music and pursuing a degree in music business.

Expect beautiful songwriting, unexpected collaborations, great stories, and spontaneous musical moments throughout the evening.

Set against Kapono’s waterfront atmosphere with great food, specialty cocktails, and Friday night energy, WAHINE is a night to listen, laugh, connect, and discover some of Hawaiʻi’s newest voices - in a way only the Wahine can.
