Two Rising Artists. One Beautiful Musical Connection.

Jazz • Soul • R&B • Pop

Come hear what we've been hearing, leave with someone new on your playlist.

Sometimes the most exciting musical discoveries happen when two very different talents come together.

Meet Jiayin & Christina Sochor, a captivating young duo bringing soulful vocals, extraordinary piano playing, and a fresh take on familiar favorites to the intimate Velvet Monkey.

Christina Sochor is a rising force in Hawaiʻi's jazz scene. A classically trained pianist with remarkable technical skill and an adventurous musical imagination, she's already earned sold-out performances at Hawaiʻi Public Radio and released her debut album, Not a Phone in Sight. Drawing inspiration from jazz greats as well as contemporary pop culture, film, anime, and video games, Christina has a gift for transforming unexpected melodies into something extraordinary.

Jiayin is a Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter whose beautiful, soulful voice and heartfelt delivery bring warmth and personality to every song. After leaving the corporate world to follow her passion for music, she's making her mark with a sound that moves effortlessly between jazz, R&B, soul, and pop. Her name means “good news” in Chinese, and she brings that same uplifting spirit to the stage.

Together, they create a musical experience that's sophisticated yet playful, blending familiar favorites, fresh interpretations, and personal musical moments with the kind of chemistry that makes live music so special.

Expect stunning vocals, dazzling piano, a little lighthearted fun, and a few musical surprises along the way.

Two artists you may not know yet. One night you'll be glad you discovered them.
