An Intimate Evening at the Velvet Monkey
Featuring HKF On the Rise – Next Level Artist Ryan Perez

Some artists have a way of stopping you in your tracks from the very first note. Ryan Perez is one of them.

With a powerful, soulful voice, extraordinary ʻukulele skills, and an undeniable connection to his music, Ryan Perez is one of Hawaiʻi's exciting emerging talents, and an artist you'll want to say you discovered early.

Blending reggae, soul, R&B, and contemporary island sounds, Ryan creates music that is both uplifting and deeply personal. His rich vocals, expressive musicianship, and heartfelt originals bring a refreshing sound to the stage, effortlessly moving between soulful grooves, island rhythms, and moments of pure musical magic.

A graduate of the Henry Kapono Foundation's On the Rise program and now an OTR Next Level artist, Ryan has already shared the stage with some of Hawaiʻi's most respected musicians, including Henry Kapono, Tavana, and the Makaha Sons.

But what makes Ryan truly special is his authenticity. A former collegiate golfer and U.S. Coast Guard veteran who discovered his calling in music, Ryan brings a unique life journey and a genuine passion for connecting with people through song.

Now, HKF Sessions invites you to experience Ryan Perez up close at the Velvet Monkey. An intimate evening of incredible vocals, soulful ʻukulele, original music, and the kind of unexpected discovery that makes live music so special.

Come for the music. Leave with a new favorite artist on your playlist.
