Film in Aylesbury - Exhibition & Screening of Wicked Little Letters

Aylesbury Town Council working in partnership with Buckinghamshire Film Office and Marlow Film Studios. 

Join us for an exhibition on a history of film in Aylesbury and Buckinghamshire, with some more recent history since the Film Office was set up. Hear from Marlow Film Studios and their £1bn investment in the area, including career pathways and a callout for local trades/businesses.

Following that, settle in for a screening of Wicked Little Letters (2025) starring Jessie Buckley and Olivia Coleman: a 1920s-set British black comedy based on a true scandal, where foul-mouthed poison-pen letters rock a seaside town and suspicion falls on eccentric Irishwoman Rose Gooding. As tensions rise, a female police officer suspects a deeper mystery. Mixing sharp wit, period charm, and themes of prejudice and empowerment, it’s buoyed by stellar turns from Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley. The film is rated 15 by the British Board of Film Classification, indicating that it is suitable for viewers aged 15 and above due to mature comedic content, language, and adult themes.
