An intimate gig to celebrate the release of The Woodland Sessions (Studio) EP at The Attic in Leeds.
The Woodland Sessions was an EP born out of HerOrangeCoat’s receipt of the NextGen Fund from Youth Music. Inspired by history, folklore, and atmosphere, HerOrangeCoat went to five woodland locations and sat, wrote, and recorded a song, each in a day. This gig celebrates the release of the studio versions of these songs, richly layered, yet still reminiscent of the delicacy in the initial recordings.
Hailing from West Yorkshire, HerOrangeCoat is a definitive example of the sum being greater than the parts. Her music is a beguiling mixture of her life experiences to date, woven into a rich tapestry of sound. Armed with her ukulele, she crafts melancholy into an enticing musical journey that demands to be heard.
With support from Wychbury, who perform mesmerising traditional and self-penned folk songs, steeped in epic, tragic and passionate storytelling. With intricate finger-picking guitar by Che Bradley and captivating vocals and flute by Rhiannon Kenny-McGrath.
