Hugs & Chaos w/ FRIENDS WKND is a concept bringing some of the international teachers who've had an impact on us to our local dancers in Redhill and the wider UK community. The aim is to expand the skills, knowledge and awareness of rueda and casino dancers and teachers in the UK, through amazing maestros who are approachable and who you can also enjoy social dancing with. The weekend is limited to 40 participants, to make sure everyone gets the most out of it.

On this occasion, we're bringing CRISTIAN MAURICIO, a dancer and teacher with deep knowledge and love for Cuban culture. Many know him as "El Rumbero de Chile", but his talents are broad and definitely don't stop there. Check below!

• From Santiago, Chile, now based in Barcelona 🇨🇱🇨🇺🇪🇸. He found Rueda de Casino at Club 440 in Santiago, and that one circle changed the entire course of his life.
• He went on to study at the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, danced as the Son dancer for the legendary Septeto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro, and became two-time World Rueda Champion with his group Tim Manana. The kind of CV that makes you forget he's also just a genuinely lovely person to be around.
• This weekend he's bringing his own method, Casino 5D, built from over 24 years of teaching and a lifetime of respect for where this dance actually comes from. 
• Cristian teaches with patience, humour and a genuine love for passing this on — the kind of teacher you remember long after the weekend ends.
• Expect a Casino 5D bootcamp, Rueda (by him and us), Son and a weekend that'll change how you hear the music, not just how you dance to it.
