Dear Parents and Carers
We’re delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for the Highgate Book Club on Monday 9 November at 7pm. The event will take place in the Junior School Hall, followed by drinks. Tickets can be purchased via the link below.
Our theme this time is historical fiction. Mr Pettitt, along with award winning author Francis Spufford and historian Alex Martin will discuss some of their favourite historical novels. Their choices are Fatherland by Robert Harris (Adam), Human Voices by Penelope Fitzgerald (Francis) and Matrix by Lauren Groff (Alex). Questions for our panel can be sent in advance on the ticket booking form, but there’s no need to have read any of the books in advance to enjoy the session.
We’ll also spend a bit of time talking to Francis about his latest (and brilliant) novel Nonesuch, set during the Second World War. A copy of Nonesuch is included in the price of your ticket.
Highgate Bookshop will be running a stall after the event selling all the books chosen as well as a selection of Highgreat Reads and Mr Pettitt’s book recommendations from at the parents’ introduction evenings.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Best wishes
