Supporting your child through anxiety

Join us for an evening of help and advice for parents with an anxious child.
This workshop will be led by Play and Creative Arts Therapist Katie Sturt and Teen Therapist Rachael Martin. In it you will learn more about the causes of anxiety, the importance of the parent / child relationship, how your response to stress is crucial and how your own self-care impacts your child.
You will come away from this workshop with lots of tips and advice on how to better handle your child's anxiety and regulate your response to it. Tickets cost £15 with a free soft drink, tea/coffee on arrival.
About Katie Sturt
As a teacher for over 25 years in the Primary sector, including roles as a SENco and Head of Year, and working as a Specialist SEN teacher and Case Lead for an Alternative Provision, Katie strives to enhance the life of young people who are out of school or struggling to attend.
Katie is an Accredited PTUK Play and Creative Arts Therapist, working non-directively, providing a safe, non-judgemental space for her clients to express their thoughts and feelings through the creative toolkit.
A young person’s mental wellbeing is at the heart of everything that she does.

About Rachael Martin
Rachael Martin is a qualified Counsellor and Youth Worker. She works with teenagers who are struggling and their parents who just feel lost with what’s the right thing to do. Using her skills from youth work, leading people and counselling she is in a position to hold a supportive space for teenagers and to also give parents insight into how you can help them whilst they navigate a very confusing and challenging time.
