We're delighted to welcome successful local author, Dee Blick, for an informal evening discussing her work and career. Dee is a multi-award-winning international bestselling author of 4 non-fiction books.

In March she published her first fiction book, The Boutique; a collection of 9 short stories with each character connecting through the fashion shop that is, The Boutique.

The stories centre on gritty subjects such as bullying, blackmail, coercive control, OCD, and addiction - with unpredictable plot twists to keep readers guessing what is next. It's a marriage of fact meeting fiction.

About Dee Blick

Dee's first self-published book was, by her own admission, one where 'the L plates were firmly fixed to the cover.' Her second book, The Ultimate Small Business Marketing Book changed Dee's life, catapulting her onto an international stage. It reached 150 in the Amazon bestseller charts and won a top award from The Bookbag. It also heralded a lucrative secondary career for her as a public speaker. Out of the blue Dee was offered a publishing contract by CITIC Publishing, China, buying the rights to this book. A publishing deal with Wiley followed for Dee's third book which also became a number one bestseller, scooping another Bookbag non-fiction book of the year award, while her fourth book, on how to write a bestseller, won The Guardian Top 10 reads for entrepreneurs.

Dee will share her personal story which touches on overcoming addiction - the catalyst for her to start writing books and why, aged just eight she began writing stories as a way of navigating a turbulent home life.
