Come and join us at Hill Close Gardens to celebrate Lammas Day:

The beginning of the wheat harvest

The first fruits of the agricultural year

This was important in the medieval farming communities because a successful harvest meant food security through the winter.

We will have lots of history and produce for you to look at and the chance to take part in a Salt Dough activity.

Sunday 2nd August

The gardens are open 11:00 to 4:00 (last admission 3.30)

For Lammas Day we are offering a choice of different packages - if none of them take your fancy, our normal opening times, admission and tea room are still available. Please just turn up from 11:00 to purchase a ticket from our front desk, or book online.

Alternatively we are offering:

Option 1:

Entrance to our gardens with a Ploughmans Lunch £16.00 p.p

Come to look around our gardens from 11:00, see our beautiful flowers, our heritage, and enjoy some time around our peaceful gardens. Sit on the bench and enjoy the views, come and look at our History table and Produce table. You can also purchase our home grown plants or visit our shop to pick up some honey.

Option 2:

Entrance to our gardens with a Guided Tour £10.50 p.p

If you would like to know more about our gardens, join us for our Guided Tour. This is a timed event so please do ensure you are here at your booked time. With this option you get entrance to the gardens from 11:00 and a Guided Tour at 11.15 which will last approximately 45 minutes. You can also purchase our home grown plants or visit our shop to pick up some honey. Our tea room will be open for any refreshments.

Option 3:

Entrance to our gardens, Guided Tour & a Ploughmans £20.00 p.p

The full package! This includes entrance to the garden from 11:00, a timed ticket for the 11.15 Guided Tour and then come to our tea room after to finish off with your Ploughmans  Please do ensure you are here at your booked time for the tour, and then you are free to have your Ploughmans and enjoy the gardens at your leisure.
