Celebrate Refugee Week in Amberley !

Combining different worlds, times and cultures, HILL HOUSE brings you

A TASTE OF SHAKESPEARE AND OF SYRIA

in a beautiful English country garden - complete with sunshine, showers, lawn, trees, marquees and teas...

The programme:

• At 1pm, or soon after, will be served a magnificent meal in Syrian style cooked by Hanan and friends from Cheltenham.
• This will be followed at 2.30 or thereabouts by an amateur performance of Shakespeare's The Tempest rehearsed rapidly over the weekend, but complete with costumes, and other surprises. Performed in the perfect natural setting, against backdrop of trees, and with equally amateur musical accompaniment.
• At 5 pm (approximately) there will be teas and soft drinks. You may like to bring a tasty snack to share. Time to chat and meet each other: audience, cooks and players.

There may also be a RAFFLE !

The afternoon will raise funds for Sanctuary Breaks' for refugees - periods of rest, respite and relative normality for people waiting months or years for decisions on their application to stay safety in the UK. Remember to bring your ticket on your phone or the number. We will have your name at the door! The event will be outdoors only (apart from visits to the loo). You may like to bring a folding chair, rug or cushion.
