We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Cambridgeshire Plein Air Artist of the Year Award 2025, a new and exciting art event and competition set to take place on June 14, 2025, in the 11-acre grounds of Histon Manor, Cambridge. 100% of the ticket fee will go to BREAK charity.
FOR ARTISTS:
We are aiming to have over 50 professional and amateur artists come and paint for the day. The event aims to establish itself as one of Cambridgeshire's key art events for years to come, with a focus on fundraising, fun, and festivities. Set up is any time from 9.30am and you are welcome to stay as long as you like but if you wish to enter the competition the art work must be finished by 3.30pm that day. There will be both a professional and an amateur's category. Complete novices are welcomed too.
We have a wonderful judging panel for the competition, but if you don't wish to enter the competition, you are welcome to buy a ticket and just come and paint or draw.
The entry fee covers participation in the event, access to the grounds and the manor's facilities, and includes free tea, cake, and cold drinks throughout the day served inside the Manor, provided by the owners of Histon Manor. NB The fee and will go directly to Break Charity. Artists should bring their own packed lunch (or there are cafes in the village just two minutes away). Artist tickets include free access to the 'Summer Sounds' performance on the lawns, which would usually cost £7.50 per person.
All artists will be welcomed to come and paint on the day, but to be eligible for the competition, you must be over 16 and live, work, or study in Cambridgeshire. For further details and FAQs please see https://www.histonmanor.com/cambridgeshire-plein-air-artist-of-the-year-award
FOR SUMMER SOUNDS CONCERT TICKETS:
The artist's event will conclude with a relaxed 'Summer Sounds' mini concert on the lawns, and the opportunity for the public to view the art. The music is being confirmed this week and will be either summer jazz or a string quartet playing well known chart songs.
If you wish to attend the concert, please click on the individual 'adult ticket' or 'family ticket' option below. Children under the age of 7 are free. The gate will open at 4:00 pm, with the concert starting at 5:00 pm and will run to 6.45 with a 15 minute interval. The grounds will close at 7:00 pm. It is a very informal event so please bring your own rugs or chairs as these are not available at the venue. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments, but please ensure rubbish is removed from the venue. Please note that there will only be one outside WC available on-site at the rear of the house. More detailed information will be sent the week preceding.
If the weather is too poor to go ahead with the concert we will issue a refund excluding Ticket Fees which have been charged by Ticket Tailor.
