Discover Grade I Wimborne Minster, a beautiful living centre for pilgrimage, prayer, mission and worship for over 1,300 years. Our tour will include a behind the scenes talk about the recent rebuild of the organ. Later learn how the Tivoli Theatre, built in 1936 as a cine/theatre, survived a redevelopment plan in 1979 and continues to provide live entertainment to local residents. Our gentle guided walk will then amble around this quaint and unspoilt riverside town which is full of history and historic buildings and will conclude at our historic lunch venue, the Olive Branch Inn. 

Later enjoy a private owner guided tour of Grade I Deans Court, an elegant house set in ancient gardens just a stone’s throw from the town centre and owned by the same family for nearly 500 years. The earliest part of the house formed part of the important Saxon monastery of Wimborne, founded in AD 705. For the next three centuries, it was probably the home of the Abbesses. The fine red brick facades were added in 1725 and the Saxon hall was remodelled in 1868 with the addition of stained-glass windows incorporating reclaimed panels of Elizabethan armorial glass.
