Foresters Hall, Suffolk
Built in 1905 as the meeting place of the Ancient Order of Foresters, the pedimented façade of the hall strikes an unexpected note of Edwardian classical grandeur in a quiet Suffolk village.

Since the 1980s when it became an antiques emporium (and the setting for episodes of Lovejoy), the building saw a number of changes of use until the present owners restored and re-configured it as an unusual home and setting for their collections. These range from seventeenth-century furniture and tapestries through to pieces by Victorian gothic revival and Aesthetic designers including Rossetti, William Morris and E.W Godwin. Also on show are pictures, prints, drawings and books ranging from the sixteenth to the early twentieth century.

It is now the home of writers and art historians Stephen Calloway and Susan Owens, both former curators at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Tickets £28 including a glass of wine or soft drink and nibbles.
