Nunton House and Breamore House
Enjoy exclusive tours of two contrasting but equally fascinating and highly attractive houses tucked away in the beautiful countryside on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border.
Enjoy an owner-guided exclusive tour of Grade II* Nunton House, a handsome brick house with a rear two-storey service wing attached to Lower Nunton farmhouse. The two-storey house was built around 1720 for the Batt family and its seven-window symmetrical front and three bay centre with steps to a central door is very similar to the design of Number 68, The Close, in nearby Salisbury. The three bays are flanked by giant pilasters on both sides at the front. The house has many original internal fittings including newel stairs with turned balusters, dados with bolection rail, fielded panelling above and below, classically moulded ceiling cornices and doors with fielded panels and cornices. There is also an original Regency fireplace with reeded pilasters and anthemion frieze. Other notable fittings include the door and window eared architraves, and the plaster ceiling decoration in the drawing room, thought to be early 20th century.

Breamore House
Later, discover Elizabethan Grade I Breamore House, completed in 1583 with minor changes made in the 18th century and further restoration after a major fire in 1856. Purchased in the 18th century by Sir Edward Hulse, physician to Queen Anne and Kings George I and II, the home is still inhabited by the Hulse family whose collected possessions over ten generations now form the contents of the mansion. The surrounding parkland includes one of only two surviving mizmazes in the country, a turf maze in the form of a labyrinth, and a Saxon parish church dating from 980 AD which is one of the finest examples of a complete Saxon building in England. The house has featured in countless screen productions including Pride & Prejudice and Into the Storm where the house was portrayed as Chequers. The house and church are both featured in Simon Jenkins' 1,000 Best series.
Tickets £88 including a two-course pub lunch at the Goat Inn. Lunch options to be made available to attendees in September 2026.
