The College of Arms is one of Britan’s most remarkable historic institutions, serving as the official authority for heraldry in England and Wales, Northern Ireland and much of the Commonwealth. Founded in 1484 by King Richard III, it is home to the Kings of Arms, Heralds, and Pursuivants, who oversee the granting and recording of coats of arms, maintain genealogical records and play ceremonial roles at major state occasions, including coronations and royal funerals.
