Behind its dignified façade, The Old Bailey is a centre of intense activity, with thousands of people entering every day, including judges, jury members, criminals, witnesses – and now Historic Houses visitors.

Admire the glorious 1907 building with its fine murals and imposing public spaces; venture down the steps from Court Number 1 to the cells below and stand in the box where hundreds of others have stood before to receive the verdict of the judge – including Jeffrey Archer and Oscar Wilde.

- You will need to bring photo ID with you (eg: passport, driving licence)
- No rucksacks or large bags are allowed.
- You will be able to take photos but NOT of the courts or cells
- Mobile phones are allowed on after-hours tours
