Landscape Painting Workshop at Salthill House, Co. Donegal

In Association with Historic Houses of Ireland and the National Built Heritage Service we are delighted to announce our upcoming landscape painting workshop in Salthill House in Donegal!

The day long workshop will be led by Sinead Smyth, a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland who works and teaches
creative arts and oil painting from her studio and garden, on the Inishowen Peninsula. Her previous oil painting work on seascape and landscape painting is abstract and the workshop will be en plein air- outdoors. 

There will be an introduction from the owner of Salthill on the history of the surrounds and by the National Built Heritage Service. The workshop will begin with a demonstration of basic techniques like colour mixing, composition and using shapes for perspective and painters will be encouraged to reflect on the glorious surrounds of Salthill and its landscape.

Materials such as paints and canvasses will be provided but please bring your own easel (and brushes if possible). You are of course able to bring any other materials you wish to use. Dress for the October weather!
