Join us at Dalkeith Palace, near Edinburgh, where we will explore how to attract groups and create unique experiences for visitors to our historic properties.
Over the past few years attending VisitScotland Connect, we at Historic Houses Scotland have noticed increased interest from smaller groups looking for bespoke tours and unique experiences. This type of business is well suited to our properties, large and small, for those who are already 'open', for those open on a special request basis or considering making their properties available. This seminar will provide an interesting insight into what clients are looking for and what makes the difference for agents in choosing venues and places to visit.
We have four speakers lined up, starting with VisitScotland’s Business Development team on the latest visitor insights and trends. Holly Mackie from Dream Escape will give an insight into the FIT (fully independent traveler) and bespoke travel market. We will then hear from Graeme Dowie from Spectra Destination Management about incentive groups across various markets; and then we will focus on a case study, hearing from Sarah Prior at Buccleuch Estates on ‘getting trade-ready’. There will be the opportunity to ask questions, and then we will hear from Charlotte Rostek about recent developments at Dalkeith Palace, followed by a tour of the palace. After the seminar The Restoration Yard café will be open for teas, coffees and light lunches.
Join us for coffee at 10am, with the seminar starting at 10.30am. The day should end around 1.30pm.
Tickets are £20 per person
