Historic Chichester: a guided walk discovering some tales of the unexpected.

From 2016 – 2018, Chris Hare managed the Chichester Heritage Walks project on behalf of the Chichester Society. In this ninety minute walk, he will explore the more colourful and unexpected aspects of the city’s history, drawing on the walks project, but also his own research into the city’s literary connections and social history. Tales of smugglers, bonfire night rioters, political and religious zealots will be mingled with the story of those who brought prosperity and respectability to the city. The walk is on the flat and mainly on pavements but sensible footwear is advised.
