Prisoners’ Education Trust is a charity that supports people in prison to access distance learning. We offer 120 courses in a wide range of subjects from bookkeeping to health and safety to creative writing, as well as GCSEs, A-levels and access modules for those considering a university degree. We know these courses make a difference: data published by the Ministry of Justice shows they reduce the chance of someone returning to prison and increase their chances of finding work.

This event will be a chance to hear from our staff about the courses that Prisoners’ Education Trust offers, how people in prison can apply and how their applications are assessed, the difference that courses can make to individuals, and what staff across the prison service can do to support people in prison to become successful distance learners. Speakers will include Prisoners’ Education Trust staff and a former learner who has benefited from participating in distance learning in prison, and there will be opportunities for questions and discussion.

This event is open to staff and students who work in the Criminal Justice System only. Please register with your work or university email address. You will be asked to confirm your role and organisation at checkout. We may need to ask you to provide additional verification.
