Our online session will commence with an introduction to the development of the Transition to Adulthood Alliance (T2A) and an overview of the young adult evidence base – exploring how creative approaches can reduce crime, save money, and ensure the best long-term outcomes for young adults.
This will be focused by short sessions from our Alliance Partners:
- The Young Justice Advisors (YJA) created a guide for young men moving from the youth to adult prison estate. The YJA will discuss how practitioners can use this guide to better support the young adults in their care. They will also discuss their newly developed communications training for prison and probation officers, which is led by Young Justice Advisors with lived experience of the justice system.
- Spark Inside will present a bitesize demonstration showing how a coaching approach, focused on young people's strengths and abilities, can help unlock the potential of young people in the justice system.
- The Alliance for Youth Justice (AYJ) will share some of the findings from their evidence review into the experiences of children and young people turning 18 while in contact with the justice system – with a particular focus on racial inequalities.
