Robin Good Art & Design Kitty Tote Bag Workshop Edmonton Cat Festival 1

Robin Good Art & Design Kitty Tote Bag Workshop Edmonton Cat Festival 2

This workshop is for ages 10 and up, and open to all experience levels. Whether you are new to painting, or have painted for years, I'm sure you'll learn something new - and have a wonderful time with your cat-loving pals.

This workshop will be run by a local artist Robin Good, a professional artist with a deep love for kitties. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards this year's Cat Fest rescue organizations, as supplies have been donated by D.W. Good Investments. Create your own pet portrait with expert guidance, show them off with your very own tote bag, all while supporting local kitties in need!

This CATivity requires an additional ticket on top of your Cat Festival ticket (with proceeds going to this year's rescue donation recipients).

There are limited spots for re-registration and limited spots for drop-in ticket purchases.

This is one of two time slots for Kitty Tote Workshop at the Edmonton Cat Festival on May 25, 2024.

What to bring:

Pictures of your kitty, printed in colour is highly recommended. For the best results, pick photos with bright natural lighting (captures colours/details the best), and front-facing images at eye-level. If you're not sure what works best, bring a few options and Robin can help you decide. Since the workshop will be an hour, please bring a beverage or some snacks. Please bring or wear a paint-friendly apron, shirt, or whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Please let us know of any accessibility needs as well.

After the workshop:

To set the paint permanently on your new tote bag, follow the following steps.

Let the tote bag dry flat for at least 24 hrs, then remove the plastic sheet inside your tote (helps prevent paint from bleeding to the back side of your tote). Tear off a piece of parchment paper large enough to cover your tote. Heat set the paint permanently by ironing over the parchment-covered tote for about a minute or two, making sure to go over all the painted areas. Iron over a flat and heat-safe surface like an ironing board. To keep your tote bag looking awesome, spot-clean or hand-wash with mild soap and cool water.
