Manage tickets

Join the Chinatown Chow Down by getting tickets to come on a guided food tour featuring stops at multiple Chinatown restaurants and bakeries in Edmonton's Chinatown on Saturday, June 28, 2025!

It's just $5 to reserve a limited spot and that amount gets donated to support Water Warriors YEG, a volunteer group who brings water, food, clothing, hygiene items and harm reduction to our unhoused neighbours in Edmonton.

ONLY 25 SPOTS AVAILABLE. Only 2 tickets are allowed per order to ensure as many people can enjoy the event as possible.

This food crawl is hosted by local community builder and Chinatown Chow Down project organizer Linda Hoang (@lindork) and includes:

  • At least 4 food/drink stops (you won’t leave hungry!)
  • A chance to try something new.
  • Meet & greets with restaurant / business owners.
  • A happy business—your support is so appreciated!
  • 100% of your $5 ticket to reserve your spot gets donated to support Water Warriors YEG, a volunteer group who brings water, food, clothing, hygiene items and harm reduction to our unhoused neighbours in Edmonton.

We walk rain or shine so plan to bring an umbrella just in case!

REMINDER TO SPREAD THE LOVE! ❤️

We hope to see new folks coming into Chinatown and folks trying new-to-them restaurants as a result of the Chinatown how Down! If you're planning to rab a spot at these low-cost events, please consider leaving tickets open for someone else to attend another event. We want to celebrate the neighbourhood with folks who already love and support Chinatown but we also really want to reach Edmontonians who have never been or rarely come to Chinatown. 🫶🏻 You could also consider bringing a friend who is new to the restaurant, cuisine or Chinatown! If you miss tickets for this month's events, stay tuned for tickets for upcoming events.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • How come the cost to attend this food crawl is just $5? Because this initiative is funded by the City of Edmonton Chinatown Vibrancy grant, the grant will cover the full cost of the food to support the restaurant and your $5 is simply to ensure your show up, while supporting local folks in need in the community through the Water Warriors YEG donation.
  • What are the additional fees on the ticket? The booking and transaction fees on top for your $5 ticket help us cover ticket processing costs to ensure the full $5 gets donated to Water Warriors YEG. Thank you!
  • Can I order more food or drinks if I want to? On the food crawls, you're invited to come back to any place you enjoyed to get more items if you wish but due to the nature of the group walking tour and timing for visiting restaurants we cannot accommodate additional orders during the time frame of the crawl.
  • Do I need to tip? Tip will already be covered via the grant. You do not need to tip additionally (but we won't say no to it if you want to!)
  • Is there parking? There is ample, free street parking in Chinatown, in and around 97 Street.
  • Can this tour accommodate my dietary needs? Please let us know what your dietary needs are before you get a ticket. If you do get a ticket and it turns out we cannot accommodate your dietary needs, we will issue you a refund.
  • Can I come alone? Yes, group tours are great to come solo! You'll meet and make new friends and there's also no pressure to interact if you don't want to lol though of course it is nice if you do!
  •  I've never been to Chinatown before. Is it safe? Yes! And if one of the reasons you haven't been to Chinatown before is due to perceived safety, attending a group meal like this is a great, accessible way to experience the neighbourhood—with a welcoming group and host! Just show up and enjoy. We hope you'll love your experience so much you keep coming back!

The Chinatown Chow Down is a City of Edmonton Chinatown Vibrancy project that offers three types of culinary experiences the community is invited to participate in. Each experience makes it easier to visit and explore the neighbourhood, support local Chinatown businesses, and celebrate the importance of Chinatowns.

  • Attend Monthly Group Lunches and Dinners
  • Participate in Chinatown Food Crawls
  • Take part in the Chow Down Challenge (culinary passport)

The Chinatown Chow Down launched late 2024 and is an initiative aimed at bringing in new and returning visitors to Chinatown, increasing vibrancy and visitation in the community!

THANK YOU for supporting Edmonton's Chinatown.
