The Bloorview Research Institute's ProFILE Lab is excited to announce our upcoming KNEDS (Knowledge Network of Expertise in Disability & Sexuality) webinar:
Exploring the Intersections of Gender, Sexuality, and Disability.
Join Wesley Magee-Saxton and Rachele Manett for an informal discussion and moderated Q&A on the intersections of gender, sexuality, and disability. Whether you're navigating these questions personally, supporting someone else, or simply looking to learn, this event offers a virtual space to listen, reflect, and connect. We'll begin with insights from speakers, and then open the floor for a guided discussion shaped by the interests and questions of those attending. Come join the conversation!
Rachele Manett (they/she) is a queer and disabled educator, certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS), and the host of That Sex Show on AMI-tv. Their work focuses on sexuality, disability and access, and they are currently the education coordinator for Venus Envy; an education-based sex shop and bookstore with locations in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Ottawa, Ontario.
Wesley Magee-Saxton (they/them) is a white, queer, and disabled Canadian Academy nominated actor, activist and writer. As an Intermediate Coach Educator at Holland Bloorview, a cofounder of Forge Ahead: A Party to Access, an actor under Ritter Talent Agency and the customer relations manager for fashion brand IZ Adaptive, they work to facilitate authentic conversations on disability in underrepresented spaces.
