The Inner Mother Journey – A Four-Session Home Retreat
A Live Online Home Retreat
with sisters Hollie Holden and Lizzie Winn
Fri 13th to Tue 17th November
🌱 “It’s an invitation back to our original knowing of our loveliness - to connect to our own inner
wise, kind, championing, fierce, authentic mother
– the one who loves us whatever we’ve done,
loves us however we are,
and wants to remind us of our beauty and innocence.”🌱
Hollie Holden
So many of us are run by forces we can’t quite see: the harsh inner critic that cuts us down, the old patterns that keep us small, the blind spots that stop us living from our true soul voice. Marion Woodman, Jungian analyst and expert in feminine psychology, called this the territory of the inner 'negative mother.' Most of us know this side of the inner mother well but our culture doesn’t tell us much about the other side of this story – that there is also a deep, grounded, endlessly loving mothering presence available inside each of us, ready to guide, nourish and champion us.
This November, we – sisters Hollie Holden and Lizzie Winn – invite you into a nourishing home retreat space to meet this 'positive mother' within. Together we’ll explore how the 'negative mother' can grip us and then turn towards the aspects of the true, divine mother that our families and the wider world rarely speak of: the one who is wise, kind, fierce, curious and loves us exactly as we are. This is the work of re-parenting ourselves so that we can live authentically, from the inside out, and truly re-teach ourselves our loveliness.
At the heart of the retreat are Hollie’s new Inner Mother cards. Hollie received the guidance to create them after a visit to Lourdes this summer, where she experienced direct contact with the active love of the Great Mother – who appears in many forms, in many cultures - and, in Lourdes, as Mother Mary.
This won’t be a weekend of taking in more information; we will be creating a warm, genuine container for direct experience of the love inside us. We will learn, deepen and discover the power of this inner mother presence together. You will probably uncover some old pain and wounds, and it will also be joyful and restorative. We will move our bodies, we will dance, share and support each other. You can join from your own home - in your pyjamas if you like – all you need is a journal, a pen and access to zoom.
Who this journey is for: Anyone (of any gender) who wants to deepen their relationship to the loving, wise voice within and deepen into Self-love.
Below is a video we created to say more about what this means to us and what this invitation is made of.
If you feel a spark inside as you read this, we would completely love to see you there.
