Voice and Yoga Circle with Sound Bath ~ Beltane
Wed 1 May 2024 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Wytham Village Hall, OX2 8QN
Description
A seasonal practice for Beltane: In the Celtic tradition, Beltane celebrates the life force of the Earth as we move from Spring towards Summer. It is a time to embrace fertility, abundance, and the speed of change and emergence shown to us by the season. It is a time to ask where we find, or wish to invite, these energies into our lives.
We will start the session with a seasonal herbal infusion and some gentle movement facilitated by Anna, followed by vocal play and harmony songs with Holly. We'll then settle down for a sound bath, where participants rest in stillness as they are bathed in the soothing sounds of gongs, singing bowls and chimes.
No prior experience is necessary and you are welcome to contact us with any questions about the venue or the practices.
Venue: Wytham Village Hall
We encourage ridesharing, so have made this form to help arrange lifts: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ju0IVlZMP5fDJFAJrvoTDf64Yrp-NsHG246SwyWafbo/edit?usp=sharing
Wytham Village Hall is to the north of Oxford, just beyond Wolvercote. There is a level access entrance and accessible toilet, but please let us know in advance if you'll need us to open the side doors (alternative is a step up and narrow doorway). There is parking available on-site, though please do let us know if you intend to come by car (venue needs to know how many spaces we'll require); and also because we'll create a spreadsheet to facilitate ride shares closer to the time. The frequent number 6 bus from central Oxford stops at Home Close, which is about a mile walk to the hall, or the ST2 stops at the hall itself.
What to bring:
- Wear clothing you able to move in freely, and a layers are good for ensuring comfort in mooments of stillness.
- A yoga mat or similar to sit/lie on during the sound bath, and a blanket for comfort. You also might like to bring an eye pillow or scarf to cover the eyes when resting for the sound bath.
- Bring water for hydration and a journal if you like to note things down.

We are unable to offer refunds to participants who are unable to attend, but are happy for anyone who is unable to attend to pass their place on to someone else.
