Georgian Concert and Supra Fundraiser
Tue 17 Dec 2024 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM
All Saints Church House, OX3 7AL
Description
Join Kalta choir round the table this Christmas for a feast of seasonal singing from the Caucasus mountains.
The supra is a traditional Georgian ritual feast which celebrates life and human connection, through collaborative toast making and song.
Our supras in Oxford are co-created, so bring a dish and share!
Before the supra, Oxford Kalta Choir will perform a short set of seasonal songs including New Year's blessings and Christmas Carols from various regions of Georgia.
We'll be raising money for those in unimaginable circumstances this Christmas.
Please give what you can to The Disasters Emergency Committee's Middle East Appeal by the Donation option at checkout.
Payment is made by bank transfer to Holly, who will send 100% of proceeds to the DEC.
(Thanks to the anonymous donor who paid the hall hire!)
Donations can also be made in cash at the event, but please do book so we know numbers.

How does the bring and share supra work?
A supra is a traditional Georgian feast, which combines toasts, wine, food and songs. The food is usually served 'tapas style' in many small dishes repeated down the long table.
In Oxford we have pot-luck style supras, where everyone contributes to the table, keeping costs down.
-You don't need to make something Georgian, but you are very welcome to.
- Your contribution could be homemade or shop-bought, food or drink. Tablecloths and decorations are useful too.
- It works best if you separate your dishes into three or more containers, ready to be distributed along the table (if you can do this before you arrive, it saves on crowding in the kitchen).
- Please label each container with allergens e.g gluten, nuts, dairy.
- There is plenty of fridge space at the venue, so if you are coming to the workshop your food can be refrigerated.
- You see what other people are bringing on the shared spreadsheet, and add your contribution there too.
